This show comprises of what I the Professor feels is a great collection of feel good tunes.
Therefore, we called this show ‘Prof’s Feel Good Factor Favourites’ with:
A classically-trained musician, DJ, producer and guitarist from Italy, from his 2004 CD entitled, Other Directions. His 2009 CD is called The Modern Sound of Nicola Conte. It is a collection of mixes, side-projects and rare tracks that have cropped up in the past decade or so and is well worth checking out.
Key members Mark Reilly and Mark Fisher have joined forces again with the CD HiFi Bossanova. – their first studio album together in 7 years.
An excellent track from their 1988 Album Natural Elements and also available on The Very Best of Acoustic Alchemy – Vol. 2 in 2008
An artist who plays clarinet, saxophone and flute and has an array of the most amazing gold and platinum selling albums. He creates great music that guarantees satisfaction especially to lovers of Smooth Jazz, Jazz-Funk and Soul. This is a great feelgood track that appears on his 1994 CD entitled, Share My World.
A very happy song that has lots of ‘DOOs’ in it. The Song appeared on her second album Inner Child and was a massive pop hit.
The Gentle People from their debut album, Soundtracks For Living. – The CD gently stimulating the senses, reaching the musical parts of you that other songs cannot reach. In my view it makes you feel good all over! As one reviewer wrote ‘the ultimate groovy chill CD….’
Akiko Yano & Swing Out Sister
A Japanese singer, songwriter and pianist who started playing piano at the age of 3. She combines Pop and Jazz and adds her own uplifting voice to produce gr8 feel good music. In this track she teams up with one of my favourite bands, a British duo who also combines pop, jazz and soul so beautifully – Swing Out Sister. The song is a masterpiece of a composition. Written by Grammy Award-winning Brazilian songwriter Antonio Carlos Jobim and covered by many artists. This is definitely my favourite version.
A Saxophonist, and vocalist who, at 9 years old was given a Grover Washington record, and saw the limitless possibilities of the saxophone. Now he’s been mentoring music students as a Berklee College of Music professor for more than 20 years. Checkout yet another feel good track that appears on his 1998 album, ‘For Your Pleasure’.
and finally ….
Composer, producer, musician , and synthesizer specialist, whose worked for many years with Level 42 . This amazing track was out on a 12″ single in 1985.
I hope you enjoyed my special journey and would love to hear from you soon.
Next week, the Doc and I will be back for the Dance special to help you burn-off those excess Xmas calories and greet the New Year with optimism and a fresh start to another decade!
All the very Best
