DISCOVERY SEGMENT

SOUL REVUE SEGMENT features:
Jimmy Ruffin – A big sixties hit on both sides of the Atlantic which became hit again in the UK in 1974.
Jackie Wilson – A track first released in 1967 & then in the UK in 1969. Maybe to co-incide with the Lunar landing!?

RE-DISCOVERED
John Klemmer –  The highly versatile and innovative saxophonist, composer, songwriter and arranger from his 1981 album entitled Hush.
The album was re-released as an Audio CD in 2008.

Player’s Association –   An association of great musicians, for example:  Larry Coryell, Joe Farrell, David Sanborn, James Mtume, Mike Mandel, Michael Brecker and others. Originally formed by drummer and arranger Chris Hills and Danny Weiss back in 1977.

Shakatak – The internationally successful,  British, Jazz-Funk  group.  The band was formed in 1980 and is still going strong. This track appeared on the 1999 album of the same name and as part of a double cd complilation.

Kirk Whalum – From from his website/blog we read that ‘One of the most exciting memories of my whole career is standing onstage with Whitney Houston in Johannesburg, South Africa, before a combined live/video audience of over 12 million people, playing the very song I honked out on my horn the first day I brought it home from jr. high, “Amazing Grace.”  I’ll never forget it.  God has a way of proving His power in some pretty impressive ways’! This track really takes you to places!
